PBIS-Positive Behavior Intervention Support
At Warren Community Elementary School all students are expected to...
*Be Responsible
*Be Respectful
*Be Safe
We believe in having high expectations of our students. Behavioral expectations will be taught and reinforced to all students while positive feedback is given as a way to encourage and increase more positive behaviors. Students will be taught expected behaviors throughout all areas of our school, for example, in bathrooms, classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, buses, etc.
Students can earn "cub bucks" when they are exhibiting responsible, respectful and/or safe behaviors. Staff throughout the building, including bus drivers, can reward a student with a "cub buck" at any time, if they observe these desired behaviors. As students collect these "bucks" they will put their name on them and keep them in a pouch in the classroom. Each week, students are given the opportunity to spend their "bucks" on small prizes or save them for more expensive prizes. We can also earn "cub bucks" as a classroom for opportunities to win special rewards such as extra recess, a karaoke party, etc.
We strive to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for all of the children. Disrespectful, disruptive, or dangerous behaviors are not tolerated and must be reported to our principal, Mr. DiFonso and a discipline referral form will be filled out. I will contact you immediately by phone if a situation like this occurs with your child.
Feel free to contact me or the school with any questions. You are the most important person in your child’s life. Together we can work to provide a positive school experience!
